Blogging is a highly flexible and useful tool in the classroom. This workshop focuses on how using a blog can help students exercise critical thinking, creative design, collaboration and peer critiquing. Blogging can underline the CCSS Mathematical practices of making sense of problems and persevere in solving them, reasoning abstractly and quantitatively, constructing viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others, modeling with mathematics, and more. In this workshop, I will show the theory behind this strategy, show examples of how this has been used and show data how how it positively affected students performance.
